(cool) Apple Approves Spotify’s iPhone App
Update 2 (6.15pm BST): Apple’s Cupertino spokesperson tells us it has approved the iPhone app from Spotify, the music service that many people believe represents a threat to iTunes: "The current status as of right now is it’s been approved and we hope to add the app to the more than 65,000 apps on the app store very soon. We’ve been in constant communication working with the developer and have already notified Spotify that the app will be in the app store very soon."

Microsoft's Long, Slow Decline
I’m not arguing that Microsoft will collapse. They’re too big, too established for that to happen. I simply think that their results this quarter were not an aberration, but rather the first fiscal evidence of a long, slow decline that began several years ago.

Open letter to Apple iPhone Developer Support (+1)
I'm a big fan of all things Apple, and as you can tell from my past blog posts I'm a big fan of iPhone development. I've even dusted off my aging C skills, and have learned to love Objective-C. The one thing I haven't learned to love, like all other iPhone app developers, is their application release process, and the seemingly arbitrary app store acceptance department.

Apple iPhone 3.0 OS event March 17th
So it looks like Apple’s planning on holding an event for iPhone 3.0 OS March 17th along with showing off an updated SDK. This would fit nicely with their brief history of having a preview software event followed by a hardware refresh in June/July. As far as what we’ve been told of iPhone 3.0, here’s what we’ve got: * MMS * Tethering via Bluetooth and USB

MobileMe - Sharing Large Files with iDisk
you can now use your MobileMe iDisk to share files with others simply and easily. Super moche. Info / Intox ?

By now, we've all heard the news that Apple refused to sell (PCWorld) Podcaster on the AppStore on the grounds that it duplicates functionality already in iTunes.

Apple dupes iPhone users into beta testing iPhone 3G
According to TechRepublic’s Bill Detwiler, Apple’s original iPhone was little more than an iPhone 3G beta test, which Jobs convinced Apple fans to pay for. The iPhone’s lack of common Smartphone features and prototype-like construction, along with the iPhone 3G’s evolutionary design, provide the evidence for Detwiler’s iPhone Betagate theory.

MobileMe users demand "money back"
some customers are demanding refunds for the days when the subscription service was either unavailable or beset with problems
